Teal Vessel Coupling

I began working with the vessel form as a metaphor for containment of relationships. The atmosphere surrounding the inner spherical and platonic solid cores was created by careful and deliberate glass material selection. Billet or block as well as various particle sizes of glass frits were carefully placed in the plaster/silica negative space mold around the positive plaster/silica core shapes so that when melted a record of the movement of glass was visually recorded. This process creates an abstract language that can be interpreted metaphorically.
